Life delayed us a few days, but I’ve finally got the week 2 kotei stats ready to go. We’re adding in Reykjavik and San Jose, with San Jose providing a (relatively) big boost to our player totals. Note that, although Reykjavik was under a slightly different bit of floor rules because they were approved to run best two-of-three matches back when that was a thing, I’m treating that cut using the normal floor rules, for the sake of consistency. As far as I know, there aren’t any other Kotei that aren’t planning on following the normal cut system, but I’ll review any others as they come up. Also, in the projected Renewal points at the bottom, I’m treating the Scorpion honor win as a Scorpion honor win for now. The honor winner was playing Scorpion, but declared his points for the Crab, which may have been what prompted AEG to officially note that (just as has always been the case in L5R) your points go to the clan you were playing in the tournament. But I don’t know if they’re letting this one batch of points get sent out of clan or not.
Week 2 saw a definite cooling off for the Crane, and a pick-me-up for Dragon thanks to a good performance at San Jose. On the other hand, this included a deck making T8 with three enlightenment victories on the day, so I might just have been hallucinating the Dragon results. It was also a good weekend for Scorpion thanks to San Jose, where they not only won but got a couple of other players into the cut as well (three out of the four at the event). And in Iceland JDT piloted his Phoenix Deathstar deck into the T2. But look at those Crab numbers. Ouch.

All I can say is that we need to get the attendance up or there’s going to be a serious dearth of big results and an awful lot of kidnapped kids.
