Thunderstone was AEG’s first deckbuilding game, in which the players build decks of Heroes, Weapons, Spells, and Villagers, and then challenge the poorly-lit depths of the local dungeon to score VPs. Since Doomgate Legion was the second expansion for Thunderstone, and AEG is now doing previews for Thunderstone’s fourth expansion, this may not be the most timely of reviews, but it did only come out only four months ago.
Strange Assembly Review – Thunderstone: Doomgate Legion
Note that this review was included in the recent Episode 025 (That’s One Doomed Podcast).
You can discuss Thunderstone, and other games, on our forums.
Also, I couldn’t help but notice that Thunderstone has ~35 times more Facebook “Likes” than Strange Assembly does. I know it’s a completely meaningless number, and I know we’re never going to catch up with the following of an actual good game, but (knowing the number of listeners we have) that’s a bit sad.
