Hack the Planet: Deck Diving 6: Andromeda Time!

Dahling, that ICE is sooo last season.

Hello and welcome to another Deck Diving. This week we’ll explore Andromeda, the newest Criminal. With her 9 card opening hand you should see a nice chunk of the deck to begin with, especially if you mulligan. But since you don’t get to keep all 9 you want to play four first turn, if you can. This is where cards like Modded help out: two cards for one click (the Modded and the card you mod). Of course with some of the best Events being Criminal cards it shouldn’t be too hard to find four cards worth playing first turn.

Criminals also have access to some of the best meta on the Runner side. I’ve included just a small amount but if your local scene has a lot of tag & bag you might want to find room for a Crash Space, whereas a heavy Jinteki area might want for Satellite Uplinks or Public Sympathy (to let you keep your hand full against all that Net Damage).

On to the deck!

Deck Created with CardGameDB.com Android: Netrunner Deck Builder

Identity:
Andromeda: Dispossessed Ristie (Humanity’s Shadow)

Total Cards: (46)
Event (26)
Modded (Core #35) x2 ■■ A Nice burst of cards played first turn, plus a cost discount for a program or hardware. Win win.
Quality Time (Humanity’s Shadow #87) x3 ■ Later in the game refill your hand back up.

Can you say “Stupid card”? I knew you could.

Account Siphon (Core #18) x3 This card be dumb.
Easy Mark (Core #19) x3
Emergency Shutdown (Cyber Exodus #43) x3 It hurts the Corp to pay for the expensive ICE. make them do it a few times and they’ll cry.
Forged Activation Orders (Core #20) x3 Cost the Corp some creds, or better yet hit them when they’re poor to leave a server vulnerable.
Inside Job (Core #21) x3 Get in where you want without bothering with everything.
Special Order (Core #22) x3 Get the breaker you need when you need it.
Sure Gamble (Core #50) x3

Hardware (4)
Doppelganger (A Study in Static #64) x2 Running once is nice. Running twice is even better.
E3 Feedback Implants (Trace Amount #24) x2 HB meta. Click to break the first sub, 1 bit a pop for the rest.

Program (9)
Corroder (Core #7) x2 ■■ We want out of faction for breakers since the Criminal’s are too expensive to run. I chose Corroder for barriers since it’s the cheapest to run.
ZU.13 Key Master (What Lies Ahead #7) x2 ■■ And Zule for gates since it’s boostable and we don’t have Yog’o’saurus. I don’t like the idea of being shut out by Tollbooth. That said, if you’d rather the risk you can always use Femme to bypass the booth and free up two influence in the process.
Crypsis (Core #51) x2 The backup plan.

“Femme Fatale” for a Femme Fatale.

Femme Fatale (Core #26) x2 She’s expensive, but her ability to bypass is worth it.
Ninja (Core #27) x1 A cheaper sentry breaker for when Femme’s not out yet.

Resource (7)
Armitage Codebusting (Core #53) x3 All of the better economy resources are out of faction. We’re out of Influence. We’ll take what we can get.
Bank Job (Core #29) x2 Often the Corp will give you a PAD campaign or other random unprotected fort so you can get your 8 bits for nothing.
Decoy (Core #32) x2 Tag & bag meta.

There’s the deck. A solid economy should let the deck hum fairly easily, while your mean tricks (Account Siphon, Emergency Shutdown, etc) should leave the Corp fairly poor. The combination of these two factors should easily let you get into any data fort you want. Eventually you’ll hit on their Agendas. However you build Andromeda she should be able to come out swinging

Happy Running!
